Network notifications of personal bests - user engagement platform
We all like to see our team winning – in sports as well as in business. In sports, we can just turn on ESPN or some other sports network and get a quick snapshot on which teams are winning, how our favorite players are doing, and other statistics that are just fun to keep up with. Winning in Continuous Improvement means getting better, or running a more successful business, everyday. In business, it can be difficult to know when someone sets a personal best or when a team breaks a record. This information gets swept up in the whirlwind of all the problems that need to be resolved. Impruver’s User Engagement Platform keeps this information, which is an excellent resource for employee engagement, on the forefront of people’s minds with on-screen pop-ups notifying users across the company of breakthroughs in performance. From there, it’s easy to drive a culture of positive recognition for continuously improving performance up and down the value chain.
Better Everyday Wall to stimulate conversation around CI successes
Which is easier for your manufacturing company to produce: a list of problems that need to be solved or a highlight reel of success stories from the shop floor? It’s been said that people need to hear 7 compliments for every criticism to maintain a positive attitude and high engagement. In Continuous Improvement, the ultimate compliment is – you did better today than you ever did before. Impruver’s Better Everyday Wall maintains a running stat-board of you team’s personal bests and breakthroughs in performance. Then it allows others to leave comments, give Hi 5’s and share best practices across your network. It’s similar to a LinkedIn wall with content curated and automatically generated, centered around the continuous improvement conversation. And the focus is on people getting better, and not so much on machines, which makes Impruver uniquely fit to drive the culture you’re looking for.
Internal Alert system to trigger tasks
It can be painstakingly difficult to transition from a fire-fighting, crisis management, scramble to hit schedule everyday, high stress, what now, culture – to one that drives daily kaizen and continuous improvement. Super short-term thinking can lead to chronically underinvesting in the future. The irony is that the Continuous Improvement work is exactly what pulls you out of the whirlwind of daily crisis. To make the transition, people in your company have to think further into the future and imagine daily life without so many failures and breakdowns. Then invest some portion of their day in bringing that future into fruition.
Impruver provides an excellent platform for developing and driving the Continuous Improvement mindset into your organization. The system conveniently provides users with alerts to help maintain organizational alignment, follow-through on action items, and other reminders for activities needed to keep your business moving in the right direction.
Top Down Strategy / Admin Rights and Bottom Up Performance Results
Impruver helps strengthen leadership direction, increase problem-solving capability, and performance results throughout your organization.
Whether your company uses a hierarchy, matrix, or some other type of organizational structure, Impruver learns and leverages the existing model to drive for greater results. The site uses the current reporting structure to organically recreate the organization so that strategy, admin rights, and performance results can be represented based on the existing leadership dynamic.
For example, if you want to know how a plant has performed over the past quarter, you could simply review the Plant Manager’s performance data and get a pretty clear picture for the level of effectiveness and where are the greatest opportunities for improvement across the plant. You can also review the Plant Manager’s strategy and Learning Log to get a precise understanding on areas of focus and what work is being done to address opportunities.
Deployment of strategy and maintaining the alignment of targets is made simple with Impruver’s Org Modeling technology. The system simply identifies the reporting relationships throughout the company and deploys strategy through these natural leadership channels. Each user establishes a vision and target condition, then their manager verifies that each of these is aligned with their own vision and target condition. In aggregate, you have an organization that is marching uniformly in the same direction and gaining speed generated through momentum that lesser organized competitors simply cannot match.
There are no designated system administrators in Impruver. This allows people to just create accounts and start getting better business results without having to jump through red tape and bureaucratic loopholes.
Managers decide what administrative rights their employees have such as:
- Editing line rates
- Adding products and production lines
- Adding machines and reason codes
- Managing subscritions
- …etc.
This allows managers to decide how much control and / or ownership they want members of their team to have.
If one person registers to the system, they are automatically granted full admin rights. As their managers join, managers are granted the privilege of determining which rights are cascaded.
We like to imagine all of these spectacular characteristics that great leaders have, but at the end of the day, the proof is in the results. Great leaders produce great results (the right way of course) through the people who follow them. Let’s not be deceived in considering someone a great leader because they look and sound the part. Let’s look instead at the results they’ve been able to deliver and how.
Impruver aggregates performance results from the shop floor up to the C-Suite to give everyone some “skin in the game” for driving continuous performance improvement. For example, a front line Supervisor’s effectiveness score is an aggregate of their Operators’ scores. A Director of Manufacturers’ score is an aggregate of their Plant Managers’ scores. This pattern repeats all the way up to the CEO of the company, creating a dynamic where Continuous Improvement is owned and accountable by all.
